有时候想和老外说，我原来以为怎么怎么样，我都是用的I think ....before，总觉得太不地道了

呵呵.我倒是觉得口语上的东西只要双方能听懂就OK,达到沟通的目的就行,毕竟不同于书面的东西

实上要正式点的话,楼上说的可以采用~

I believe he meant to say " used to think". or "  I thought"

原来 = used to = before

It is not a bad question at all, I can read more into the question than what it appears to be. My only problem with it is  that he didn't make it clear enough, as you can see most of you guys might have got it wrong.
Sometime it makes me wonder my study in English helps me understand Chinese better than the native Chinese  speakers.

Usually we use "I thought that ..."
就是我原本认为，我曾经认为
believe 是相信，或许可以用I used to believe that he/she/?......


In my opinum,in my view 是表达想法时用的，就是根据我的见解，意见，观点之类的。
